Le dessus / The top plate
Depuis hièr, j'ai commencé à travailler sur le dessus du violon (qui est fait en épinette contrairement au fond qui est fait en érable). Comme vous pouvez le voir ci-dessous, j'ai applanni le dessous au rabot, tracé le contour de la couronne d'éclisses et découpé ce contour à la scie à ruban. Je vais pouvoir maintenant ébaucher le dessus et commencer à le préparer pour placer les filets.
Since yesterday, I have started to work on the violin top plate ( made from spruce, the back is made from maple). As you can see below, I have planned flat the top underneath. Drawn the violin outline from the ribs. And cut this outline with a bandsaw. I am now going to start the rough carving of the top to prepare it to insert the purfling.
