Brother Amati c.1620 (copy) Baroque Viola
This instrument is a reconstitution of a viola made by the Brothers Amati in 1620 set up as a baroque version. The fingerboard and tailpiece are made in flamed maple veneered with ebony and the pegs and button ( made by my colleague: Remi Rouleau ) are in boxwood. This is a 409mm (16 inches) viola with a smaller neck than a modern viola.
